A leading national insurer is currently recruiting for two roles within their legal department at the mid to senior level.

Working as part of a small, close-knit team, the role will also provide you with the opportunity to take an integral role in core business functions.
Legal duties will include: -

Dealing with compliance/ regulatory matters including ICOBS
Internal audit and risk management
Dealing with various contractual matters including; distribution, affinity, terms of business, appointed representatives, binding authorities, services, outsourcing, broker funding, licensing
Advising the business on data protection and competition issues

In addition to the legal aspect of the role, you will also have a real opportunity to interface with the commercial functions, acting as a business advisor, rather than a purely legal one. The size of the team means you get real hands on experience and will pay a pivotal role within the company.

Successful candidates are likely to have at least 3 years’ experience in general insurance, coming either from an in-house or a private practice background. Experience of FSA regulation and practice is essential whilst knowledge of data protection and competition would be an advantage.
